Styling: Ten fashion trends you are sure to see in 2019

New year means new fashion. Yay!
What are some of the top trends we will be seeing in 2019?
Here are 10 of the biggest ones:

1. Neons. That’s right. The weather may be cold and colorless but it’s about to get very bright. This is set to be one of the biggest trends of the year and will sure be hard to miss. Neon can be a lot to take in so I always suggest pairing it with a neutral such as camel or beige. Black can often be too harsh and you don’t want to end up looking like a highlighter. Neon accessories such as a pair of neon pink heels or a bright orange belt can do the job just fine.

2. Snakeskin. Move over leopard, there’s a new animal print in town. Although we’ve seen hints of this already, it’s about to get bigger and better than before. Wear a full on snakeskin maxi dress or have some fun with snake-inspired accents such as boots or bags for an edgy, cool vibe.

3. Tie-dye. Give your style a moodier modern vibe with this trend. It isn’t the same tie-dye you used to rock on your T-shirts. It’s a much more stylish version and looks great paired with jeans. Sophisticated options in both bright and muted colors.

4. ‘90s (Cue all of our favorite 90s music!). The 90s are back — WAY back. From everything from biker shorts to fanny packs.

5. Yellooo to yellow the color of 2019. I think it’s very refreshing to see some love for this color — it hasn’t gotten all it deserves and it’s a happy color.

6. Patchwork. Lots of designers have started to incorporate lots of mixed prints and eye-catching patterns to their pieces such as dresses, jumpsuits, pants and more. To wear the trend, allow the patchwork detail to do most of the talking and pair it with subtle accessories

7. Statement sleeves. We talked about the ‘90s being a big inspiration but what about the ‘80s! These big oversized sleeves sure give ode to that fun time period. We’ve seen them already in the past, but they are definitely getting larger and bolder this year.

8. Crochet. You don’t have to wait until summertime to rock this trend. From frilly dresses to tops, you can do it very slightly or go all out. This is another look that we have elevated — it isn’t the old knitting crochet we used to see and this one has a ‘70s hip vibe!

9. Feathers. How fancy! We see this a lot on street bloggers and also associate it with very dressy attire, but now we can flock together casually in this fun accent. Bags, sleeves and a lot of feather trimming!

10. Neutrals. As you can see, I mentioned a lot of bold colors and patterns this year. So how nice is it to see that neutrals are a trend? That’s right — earth tones have packed the runways from head-to-toe. That means if bold-color blocking isn’t your thing, we have you covered.
